公共外語教學部承擔全校非英語專業學生的外語教學及英語、俄語專業學生的第二外語教學,包括大學英語教學團隊、日語教學團隊和1名法語教師。
大學英語教學團隊承擔全校非英語專業的英語教學工作。大學英語是我校非英語專業學生的公共必修課程,也是我校規模最大、學程最長、學時最多的基礎課程。建校以來,大學英語教學團隊堅持改革創新,強化教學管理。2016年進行大學英語教學改革,旨在培養本校學生英語學習興趣、提升學生生活與職場英語溝通能力、提高學生升學及就業的競爭力、適應全球化趨勢的人才需求。教學改革取得了顯著成績。大學英語教學采取“課堂教學+自主學習”的教學模式,重點培養學生的英語綜合應用和自主學習能力。每學期在各年級、各層級開展形式多樣的第二課堂活動,如英語手抄報、短劇配音、話劇表演、英語文化大闖關、英語演講、英語寫作、英語閱讀等。大學英語教學團隊每年組織指導學生參加“外研社”杯全國英語演講、寫作和閱讀比賽,取得良好成績。
大學英語教學團隊現有教職工30人,其中教授1人,副教授3人,講師26人,博士2人,在讀博士1人,海外留學碩士研究生2人,具有海外進修經歷2人。大學英語教師主持國家級項目3項,省級項目4項,參編教材15部,專著4部。本部門教師積極參與各項社會服務工作,如承擔東盟會議等各種會議和活動的口、筆譯工作。
日語教學團隊現有專任教師3人,其中副教授2人,博士1人。教學方面,主要承擔外國語學院英語專業二外教學、全校小語種日語及輔修學士學位的教學任務。主要課程包括基礎日語、高級日語、日語口語、日語聽力、日語閱讀、日語視聽說、第二外語(日語)、小語種日語等??蒲蟹矫?,在研項目3項,包括國家社科基金項目1項,教育部人文社科項目1項,海南省外語基地專項課題1項;已完成項目3項,均為海南省社科規劃項目。近三年,在公開學術期刊發表論文24篇,其中CSSCI來源期刊1篇,CSSCI擴展版期刊6篇;北大中文核心期刊6篇。
Department of Foreign LanguagesTeaching
The Department of Foreign LanguagesTeaching undertakes the foreign languages teaching for non-English major students and the second foreign language teaching for English and Russian major students. The department consists of College English Teaching Team, Japanese Teaching Team and one French teacher.
College English Teaching Team undertakes the English teaching work of all non-English majors in USY. As a common compulsory course, College English has the largest scale of students as well as the most class hours, lasting for four semesters. Since the establishment of USY, College English Teaching Team has been insisting on teaching reforming and innovating and strengthening teaching management. In 2016, the Team carried out a teaching reform, in order to cultivate students’ interests in English learning, to improve students’ English communication skills in life and work, to enhance students’ competitiveness for further education and job hunt and to meet talent demands in the tendency of globalization. Remarkable achievements have been made in this teaching reform. The teaching mode is “classroom teaching + autonomous learning”, with the focus on the development of students’ English comprehensive skills and self-learning ability. Various extracurricular activities are conducted in different grades and levels in each semester, such as “Hand-written English Newspaper Design Contest”, “Movie Dubbing Contest”, “Drama Performance”, “English Cultural Knowledge Contest”, “English Speech Contest”, “English Writing Contest”, “English Reading Contest”, etc. What’s more,under the guidance, students participate in the “FLTRP Cup” National English Speech Contest, National English Writing Contest and National English Reading Contest every year. Many of them win awards.
There are 30 teachers in College English Teaching Team, including one professor, three associate professors and 26 lecturers. Among them, two teachers got PhDs, two got master’s degree overseas, two undertook further study abroad and one is studying for her doctorate. Teachers in the Team are hosting 3 National Projects and 4 Provincial Projects. They have been involved in compiling 15 teaching books. Four teachers published 4 academic books. Moreover, teachers positively involve themselves in social services like undertaking written translation and interpretation work.
Japanese Teaching Team currently has three full-time teachers, including two associate professors and one with PhD. In terms of teaching, this team mainly undertakes the teaching of Japanese for English majors, for students of non-English majors with Japanese as the second language, as well as for students Minoring in Japanese. The main courses include basic Japanese, advanced Japanese, spoken Japanese, Japanese listening, Japanese reading, Japanese audio-visual speaking, the second foreign language (Japanese), etc. In terms of scientific research, three projects are carried out, including one Project of National Social Science Fund, one Humanities and Social Science Project of the Ministry of Education, and one Specific Project of Hainan Foreign Language Base. Another 3 social science planning projects of Hainan Province have been finished. In the past three years, 24 papers have been published in public academic journals, including one in CSSCI source journal, six in CSSCI extended edition journal and six in the Core Journal of China.
